If there is almost no reduction in the belt, it is considered that the belt tension is excessive. When the tension is insufficient, the belt slips easily. When the tension is too large, it is easy to damage the bearings of the transmission belt and various pulleys. Therefore, it is necessary to adjust the belt tension to the best condition.

Severe belt wear causes the contact area between belt and pulley to decrease sharply. At this time, as long as the belt is pressed hard, the belt will sink deeply into the groove of the pulley, indicating that the belt is excessively worn and must be replaced in time.

What factors affect the service life of the transmission belt?

Since the transmission belt is made of rubber, it will inevitably age during use. In a normal working environment, the transmission belt can reach an ideal service life, but in actual use and maintenance, we may affect the service life of the transmission belt due to improper handling.

1. Ambient temperature
Modern engines, in order to save fuel and reduce the size and weight, the engine is very compact, which will increase the temperature in the engine compartment and make the working environment of the transmission belt very harsh. The service life of the transmission belt decreases as the ambient temperature increases. Therefore, when the vehicle is used in a high temperature environment, the transmission belt will be shortened.

2. Lubricant
The transmission belt does not need to be lubricated. If there is lubricant on the transmission belt, the transmission belt may slip and accelerate wear. At the same time, the lubricant will accelerate the aging process of the rubber. Therefore, remember, never put the transmission belt in the oil! ! ! If your drive belt is accidentally stained with oil, please use it with caution and it is best to replace it immediately.

3. Installation tension
The transmission belt is driven by friction between the sides and the pulleys. Therefore, the size of the installation tension will directly affect the use of the transmission belt: if the tension is too small, it will cause the belt to slip. The slip will not only aggravate the wear on both sides of the belt, but the accumulation of heat generated by the slip will also accelerate the aging process of the belt; If the installation tension is too large, it may cause delamination of the belt and loss of working ability.

4. Pulley
